Bug and Pest
These are insects that attack your lawn or any other plants in
your lawn. They are those crawly creatures that cause damage and block the
healthy growth of your lawn. That is why it is always important to have a daily
lawn check. As early as possible, these should be treated for you to attain a
lush, green healthy lawn that would not cause a serious injury to it. However,
there are some that we called beneficial insects that are helpful to the growth
of lawns. For that it is necessary for you to identify insects that could cause
damage. There are categories for lawn pests: The weeds that contest with the
grass for supply, insects eating on the grass, plant diseases and those tiny
animals breaking up the grass to provide on insects or plants.
Here are some of the common insects that do appear on lawns:
Aphids – These includes various species. The white pine aphid eat on the branches of trees thus, this could ruin or damage small trees.
Ants – They sometimes do appear on lawns they may not cause serious damage on grass but those holes they make could lead to a problem if this could be neglected.
Armyworms – forming larval of moths, the kind of insects that eat and grind turf grasses down on ground. The Fall armyworms are the main pest in lawns that is in southern area.
Billbugs – are those beetles that has a pair of strong jaws able to chew foods well they penetrate into the grass stems near the soil and feed on leaves this too could cause serious damage to lawns

Chiggers – are red bugs that attacks lawns on the woody and grassy parts also, irritating to humans they are small bugs that could cause extreme irritation and itching to skin.
Chinchbugs – They cause heavy damage to St. Augustine grass and could usually be seen on grasses like Bermuda, Zoysia and Centipede
Cutworms - They are striped or spotted caterpillars that comes in light brown, gray or black. At night they feed and hide during day. However, they seldom attack lawns. Usually they eat leaves or cut off grass beside the soil that would cause damage to its seeds.
